If you plan on being one of the millions of shoppers to browse the Amazon Black Friday 2019 Deals this year, you might want to plan ahead. The online retailer is offering thousands of Black Friday Deals over the weekend, and some of them have already started. Shopping on the site is easy enough, but if you are hunting down a particular item, you’ll have to act fast and outsmart the competition. In the past, discounted TVs and low-priced kitchen gadgets have sold out in just a few seconds, so you’re going to need patience and a little luck to get the best deals. Shopping Amazon’s Black Friday deals can be a lot like trying to score tickets to Comic-Con, but far less stressful, and there’s nothing wrong with stacking the deck in your favor for a magical holiday on the couch. These are my personal Amazon Black Friday 2019 tips, and feel free to share them with your friends.

Step 1: Set Your Bookmarks

Amazon has an excellent navigation system, but it’s not as great when you are in a hurry. As the seconds tick away on Black Friday, you don’t want to be stuck navigating Amazon’s thousands of pages and subcategories. Most of the big Black Friday Deals will be lightning deals, so bookmark the Lightning Deals page to check on it regularly. Amazon doesn’t tell you when each item will be promoted on the Lightning Deal page, so you have to catch it at the right time. That being said, you can get a sneak peek at the upcoming Lightning Deals on the Upcoming Page. Here, you can “Watch This Deal” and add the item to your “Deals You’re Watching Page,” to keep them all in one place. With these three bookmarks, you have the deals going on now, the deals coming up, and the deals you found. A trifecta of shopping organization.

Step 2: Know the Confirmed Promotions

Each year, Amazon confirms a long list of promotions and discounts on thousands of items, and this includes Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals. Amazon announced this year’s promotions earlier this month, and you can preview the list of Black Friday Deals and Cyber Monday Deals to see if anything sparks your interest. These aren’t all the deals that are going on over the weekend, but it’s a great place to start.

Step 3: Browsing History

If you were checking out different items and lost your place, use the Browsing History tab to find everything you’ve looked at recently. It shows the price, picture, and serves as a quick link back to the product page. It’s much more convenient than remembering model numbers or product names, and the tab can save you time jumping through windows and menus. If you share a profile with someone, you can also delete items to hide your gift ideas.

Step 4: Shipping and Payment

If you haven’t bought anything from Amazon in a while, make sure your Address and Payment information is correct under your Amazon Profile. On the website version, you can click the “Account & Lists” dropdown tab to manage your profile settings. A quick note, if you are shipping to a new address, you may be asked to verify your saved card info for security, so have it on hand if you’re shipping a gift to someone and not to your residence. This will make checkout a breeze, and in a few clicks, your order will be on its way.

Tip 1: Gift Guides

If you can’t think of a gift for someone, let Amazon suggest a few thousand items for that person. The online retailer has Gift Guides in over a dozen categories, and you can even sort by price, starting a just $10. There are also options for shopping by gender and age to make things a little easier. The lists are created by Amazon editors, using buying history and wish-list data from millions of Amazon users. Wonder what people want? Amazon keeps an updating list of the “Most Wished For” items, organized by category, which you can use to find great gift ideas.

Tip 2: Amazon X-Ray

When the boxes start arriving, don’t feel the need to open all of them and then hide the items. Let the box itself be the hiding place. Using the Amazon mobile app, you can scan the packages and the App will tell you what’s inside. This way, you know what came, and you can have a nice pile of Amazon boxes ready to be wrapped before the holidays.

Tip 3: Know the Amazon Return Policy

Amazon has one of the best return policies in the business, just don’t abuse it. This year’s holiday policy states, “Items shipped by Amazon.com between November 1 and December 31 of this year, may be returned until January 31 of the following year for a full refund.” The official year-round Amazon Return Policy reads, “Items shipped from Amazon.com, including Amazon Warehouse, can be returned within 30 days of receipt of shipment in most cases. Some products have different policies or requirements associated with them.”

These Amazon Black Friday 2019 tips and suggestions should make your Black Friday weekend easier than ever. We wish we could tell you when your big-ticket item will go on sale, but hunting it down is part of the annual tradition at Amazon. With your bookmarks saved, and your information up to date, you should be fully equipped for a magical shopping trip from the comfort of your couch.
