ABC announced that Lucy Hale is returning to the network’s New Year’s Eve celebration this year, but this time she is moving from New Orleans to New York City to co-host with Ryan Seacrest. The duo will share hosting duties during ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” countdown. The network also announced that Billy Porter will also join the show, hosting the New Orleans countdown. Also returning this year is Ciara, who will once again oversee the Los Angeles event for the west coast crowd. This is the 15th year that Ryan Seacrest will host the special, which airs live from New York City on December 31st, starting at 8pm.
“As we ring in a new decade and my 15th year hosting the show, I’m so excited to welcome the talented Lucy Hale to the stage with me,” said Seacrest. “It’s going to be a powerhouse year with Billy and Ciara, and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!”
“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020” marks the 48th anniversary of the special, and this year’s programming will include almost 6 hours of performances, along with reports on New Year’s festivities from around the world.
Lucy Hale’s “Katy Keene” is premiering on The CW on February 6th, and she is featured in the new thriller “Fantasy Island,” which hits theaters on February 14th. Billy Porter is an award-winning actor, singer, director, composer, and playwright. He most recently won the Emmy Award for Lead Actor for his appearance in FX’s Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated drama “Pose,” as well as appeared in “American Horror Story: Apocalypse.”
