Netflix’s ‘A Christmas Prince’ franchise is expanding the Royal Family this year with “A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby.” The movie catches up with Amber and Richard in Aldovia, and the duo are hosting royals from a distant kingdom to renew a sacred truce. Things pick up when the treaty vanishes, peace is jeopardized and an ancient curse threatens their family. Netflix released a first look trailer for the third installment on Wednesday morning.
If you haven’t been following along, this is the third film in the “A Christmas Prince” franchise, which has become Netflix’s staple of sugary holiday programming. The first film, “A Christmas Prince” had us following an aspiring young journalist to write up the handsome prince who’s poised to be king. “A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding” has journalist Amber marrying Prince Richard, and Amber wasn’t sure if she wanted to be a queen, and Richard faced a political crisis. Now the royal duo are expecting, and once again the kingdom of Aldovia is in trouble.
“A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby” is just the star on top of the Netflix holiday tree. On November 15th the video streaming service released the animated-comedy “Klaus,” and you can watch Vanessa Hudgens in “The Knight Before Christmas” on November 21st, followed by the baking competition “Sugar Rush Christmas” on November 29th. In December you have “A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby,” and Netflix is also releasing the holiday movies “Holiday in the Wild” and “Holiday Rush.” You can also watch “Merry Happy Whatever,” which stars Dennis Quaid, Bridgit Mendler, and Brent Morin. If your holiday spirit still needs a boost, look for the YA adaptation “Let it Snow” with Isabela Merced, Shameik Moore, Kiernan Shipka, Odeya Rush, and Jacob Batalon.
Other holiday hits include “The Great British Baking Show: Holidays” and “Nailed It! Holiday!,” and there will be holiday magic in the series “Magic For Humans.”
