Amazon confirmed that the new Disney+ app will be available on Amazon devices, and that includes Fire TV streaming devices, Fire TV Edition smart TVs, and compatible Fire Tablets. The app is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, November 12th. With all of the streaming platforms preparing for war, it’s nice to see Amazon and Disney playing nice, and making things easier for the consumer.
Set to launch in just a few weeks, Disney+ will be the home to the best of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. The big series already set to launch include the live-action Star Wars show “The Mandalorian,” “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” a live-action “Lady and the Tramp” adaptation, and more. The platform will also host all 30 seasons of “The Simpsons,” and feature movies like “Captain Marvel,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Aladdin,” “Toy Story,” “The Lion King,” “Frozen,” and “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.” Disney is also pulling dozens of older movies out of the vault for the service, so you can relive your childhood with classics, or introduce a new generation to your favorites.
On Fire TV, finding and downloading the app is easy with Alexa, just say, “Alexa, open Disney Plus” into your Alexa Voice Remote, paired Echo device, or Fire TV Cube with Alexa built-in. Disney+ content will also be included in Fire TV’s universal search feature making it easy to find and discover content with your voice. Just say, “Alexa, play The Mandalorian” to start streaming; or discover Disney+ content in search results such as, “Alexa, find Star Wars movies.”
Fire TV and Fire Tablet customers can sign up for a seven-day free trial directly on their Amazon device starting November 12th, after which they will be charged $6.99 a month. If a customer signed up for Disney+ on another device, they can simply log into their account.
