The CW is sticking with its freshman series, giving full-season orders to both “Batwoman” and “Nancy Drew.” The new deal gives both shows 22 episodes each, and the confirmation came from Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW. Both shows saw major bumps in viewership thanks to streaming. While the shows aren’t crushing records on their premiere nights, the stats prove that both shows are on viewers watch-list, and fans are returning week after week to watch the new episodes.

The network stated that both “Batwoman” and “Nancy Drew” saw significant increases in overall audience, taking information from DVR and streaming online. Ruby Rose’s “Batwoman” had its linear ratings grow 73% among adults 18-34 and 80% in adults 18-49 with L+7 viewership. Mystery expert “Nancy Drew” posted 94% gains in adults 18-34 and 114% in adults 18-49 in L+7 gains.

With The CW securing full in-season streaming rights to all new series starting this season, every episode of “Batwoman” and “Nancy Drew” will exclusively stream on The CW’s digital platforms the day after broadcast throughout the season, so viewers can catch up at any point during the season on and The CW app. Viewing is free, without authentication, subscription or log-in required.

If you’re new to the show, “Batwoman” is set three years after the mysterious disappearance of Batman, and Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kate (star Ruby Rose) will have to become what her father loathes, a dark knight vigilante, soaring through the streets of Gotham as Batwoman.

“Nancy Drew” stars Kennedy McMann, and the show follows the brilliant teenage detective whose sense of self had come from solving mysteries in her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine. That changes after her mother’s untimely death. Devastated by her mother’s passing, Nancy swears off crime-solving while crossing off the days until she can re-apply to college. But when a socialite is murdered, Nancy finds herself a prime suspect in the crime, along with a group of other teens present at the scene.
