Amazon dropped a second trailer for “The Aeronauts,” which is coming to select theaters on December 6th, and Prime Video on December 20th. Tom Harper directed the movie, working from a story by Harper and Jack Thorne. The drama stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones.
The story follows balloon pilot Amelia Wren and meteorologist James Glaisher, and follows the duo as they attempt to advance human knowledge of the weather and fly higher than anyone in history. The studio described the movie adding, “While breaking records and advancing scientific discovery, their voyage to the very edge of existence helps the unlikely pair find their place in the world they have left far below them. But they face physical and emotional challenges in the thin air, as the ascent becomes a fight for survival.”
Redmayne and Jones co-starred in the 2014 hit “The Theory of Everything,” playing the roles of Stephen and Jane Hawking. Eddie Redmayne took home the Oscar for Best Actor with the role, and Felicity Jones won Best Actress. James Marsh directed the movie for Focus Features, and it went on to make over $123.7M worldwide. The film won Best Picture, Best Original Music Score, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
Earlier this week, Amazon Studios released “Modern Love” on the platform. That project stars Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Dev Patel, Caitlin McGee, John Slattery, Brandon Victor Dixon, Catherine Keener, Julia Garner, Andy García, Cristin Milioti, Olivia Cooke, Andrew Scott, Shea Whigham, Gary Carr, Sofia Boutella, John Gallagher Jr., and Sam Masto. “Modern Love” tells multiple stories about the joys and tribulations of love, each inspired by a real-life personal essay from the beloved New York Times column “Modern Love.” You can find that series right here on Amazon Prime Video.
