Sony Pictures’ “Bloodshot” adaptation hits theaters in February, and the studio released a first look trailer for the movie on Monday morning. Starring Vin Diesel, the story is based on the bestselling comic book and follows the character Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation.

The studio’s description reads, “With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he’s an unstoppable force -stronger than ever and able to heal instantly. But in controlling his body, the company has sway over his mind and memories, too. Now, Ray doesn’t know what’s real and what’s not – but he’s on a mission to find out.”

David S. F. Wilson directed the movie, working from a screenplay by Jeff Wadlow and Eric Heisserer. The movie also stars Eiza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan, Toby Kebbell, and Guy Pearce.

Neal H. Moritz, Toby Jaffe, Dinesh Shamdasani, and Vin Diesel serve as producers on the project, with Dan Mintz, Louis G. Friedman, YU Dong, Jeffrey Chan, Rita LeBlanc, Buddy Patrick, and Matthew Vaughn serving executive producers.

February is already a popular month with studios. Warner Bros. Pictures is starting the month with “Birds of Prey,” and the following week is packed with “Fantasy Island,” “The King’s Man,” “The Photograph,” “Sonic the Hedgehog,” and “What About Love.” The “Bloodshot” movie is opening against “Brahms: The Boy II” and the animated movie “The Call of the Wild.” Later in the month, Universal Pictures is releasing “The Invisible Man” nationwide. February is still a few months off, so the schedule could change before we dive into the wintry months. As it stands, moviegoers will have plenty of options to choose from while hiding from the cold. Fans of the comics can watch the official trailer below, thanks to an early morning upload from Sony Pictures.
