The comedy crime-drama “Hustlers” will release on digital on November 26th, followed by the 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD version on December 10th. The movie was inspired by the true story about a crew of former strip club employees who turn the tables on their greedy Wall Street clients.
The movie was an instant hit for the studio, and “Hustlers” made $33.1M on its opening weekend. The film went on to make over $93M domestically, and over $112.3M worldwide. Lorene Scafaria directed the movie, which stars Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, and Cardi B.
The story follows Destiny (Wu) a young stripper struggling to make ends meet. That is, until she meets Ramona (Lopez), the club’s savvy top earner, who shows her the way toward making big bucks. But when the 2008 economic collapse hits their Wall Street clientele hard, Destiny and Ramona concoct a plan with their fellow strippers to turn the tables on these greedy power players.
Constance Wu fans can see her on ABC’s “Fresh Off the Boat” as Jessica Huang, and she is voicing the role of Mom in the animated-comedy “Wish Dragon,” set to hit theaters in 2020. Jennifer Lopez is teaming up with Shakira for the Super Bowl halftime show. In 2020, Lopez is starring in the movie “Marry Me” with Owen Wilson and Sarah Silverman, and she is expected to play the role of Rose Alvarez in “Bye Bye Birdie LIVE!” on television. Julia Stiles is starring alongside Janeane Garofalo and Kelsey Grammer in the thriller “The God Committee,” from writer and director Austin Stark. That project is also expected to release in 2020.
