Pixar’s “Onward” is hitting theaters in March, and the studio released an official trailer for the movie on social media. The story is set in a suburban fantasy world and introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there. Dan Scanlon directed the animated-comedy for the studio, and Kori Rae served as a producer. “Onward” will launch into theaters on March 6, 2020.

Written and directed by Dan Scanlon, “Onward” features the voice talents of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Octavia Spencer, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The movie is opening against A24’s “First Cow,” Paramount’s “Monster Problems,” and Warner Bros. Pictures’ “The Way Back” with Ben Affleck. “Onward” will have a difficult follow-up weekend at the box office, when Warner Bros. Pictures releases “Godzilla vs. Kong” nationwide. The previous film in that franchise, “Godzilla: King of the Monsters,” opened in May 2019 and made $47.7M on opening weekend. The monster battle went on to make over $385.9M for the studio.

The next big Disney project to hit theaters is “Frozen 2,” which is releasing nationwide on November 22. Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee directed “Frozen 2,″ and the film features the voice talents of Evan Rachel Wood, Kristen Bell, Sterling K. Brown, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, and Idina Menzel.

Disney has more than “Onward” and “Frozen” in its arsenal this holiday season. The company is also releasing “Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker” in December. J.J Abrams directed the new installment, working off a script that he co-wrote with Chris Terrio. The movie is the final installment to the Skywalker tales and stars Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Billie Lourd, and Kelly Marie Tran. The movie will also feature Keri Russell and Billy Dee Williams.
