Netflix brought a “Lost in Space: Season 2” trailer to New York Comic-Con on Saturday. Season 2 of the new adaptation will have 10-episodes, and they are launching on Netflix on Christmas Eve, giving sci-fi fans something other than a “Doctor Who” marathon to watch this year.
The video streaming service released the trailer on social media, asking fans, “Have you seen our Robot?” The video features the song “What a Wonderful World,” and fans of the show can watch the teaser below. In the new season, the Jupiter 2 is stranded on an ocean planet, and no one can find their helpful robot. The crew will need to work together to save the day and reunite with the other colonists, but new dangers and enemies are lurking in the shadows.
The show stars Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Maxwell Jenkins, Mina Sundwall, Taylor Russell, Ignacio Serricchio, and Parker Posey. If you haven’t started the new adaptation yet, “Lost in Space” is a modern reimagining of the classic 1960’s sci-fi series. The story is set 30 years in the future, where colonization in space is now a reality, and the Robinson family is selected to make a new life for themselves in a better world. In Season 1, the family is diverted off-course en route to their new home, and they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a dangerous alien environment.
The series is produced by Legendary Television and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Zack Estrin serves as showrunner on the Netflix series. Zack Estrin, Kevin Burns, Jon Jashni, Matt Sazama, and Burk Sharpless also serve as executive producers.
New York Comic-Con runs from October 3rd through October 6th, and you can find more NYCC Headlines to stay on top of the announcements and trailers.
