Fans of “The Walking Dead” were the first to watch a trailer for the new spinoff series at New York Comic-Con on Saturday. The show, which is the third installment to the growing franchise after “The Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead,” stars Alexa Mansour and Aliyah Royale. The show centers on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse, as they learn to survive and thrive with zombies everywhere. The show also features Nico Tortorella, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, and Hal Cumpston, and is set to premiere in Spring 2020.
Today’s panel at NYCC included co-creators Scott M. Gimple and Showrunner Matt Negrete, along with Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, and Nico Tortorella.
In the network’s announcement, AMC teased the series adding, “Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.”
Jordan Vogt-Roberts is directing the new series for AMC, which was co-created by Scott Gimple and Matt Negrete. In other “The Walking Dead” news, AMC did confirm that the original series will return for Season 11. That show’s 10th season is starting on October 6th, and picks up a few months after the events we witnessed in the last finale. The collected communities are still dealing with Alpha and the Whisperers, and things weren’t going great with the survivors. While staying on their side of the new border, our crews are secretly preparing for a possible war. If you need to set a reminder for the show’s 10th season premiere, “The Walking Dead” is scheduled to return on October 6th.
New York Comic-Con runs from October 3rd through October 6th, and you can find more NYCC Headlines to stay on top of the announcements and trailers.
