The makers of the hit animated-series “Big Mouth” announced a new spinoff show at New York Comic-Con on Thursday evening. The current team members working on the new series are Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, Jennifer Flackett, and Kelly Galuska, and the show is going by the name “Human Resources.” The five members will serve as creators and executive producers on the new show, but the group stopped short of confirming a premiere date.
The crew described “Human Resources” as a workplace comedy, but since this is a spinoff, it will contain the same giant monsters like we see on “Big Mouth.” All five members will serve as creators and executive producers on the new series.
The announcement was made Thursday at New York Comic-Con, where the cast and crew took to the stage to meet with fans and promote their animated-hit “Big Mouth.” Earlier this year, Netflix confirmed a new deal with Kroll, Goldberg, Levin, and Flackett, through their company Brutus Pink, and this is one of the first projects to appear from that agreement. The deal also gave “Big Mouth” three more seasons, ensuring that the animated-comedy will last at least six seasons in total on Netflix.
The group were at New York Comic-Con to announce the new spinoff, but also promote the premiere of “Big Mouth.” If you’re a fan of that show, the big premiere is scheduled for Friday. The crew also announced a very special Valentine’s Day episode for the new season, which we hope is filled with musicals and awkward feelings.
A short announcement trailer was shown at the event, and Netflix released the video on social media, telling followers, “Human Resources: We manage people.” You can watch the short video below, and set a reminder to catch the new season of “Big Mouth” this weekend. The new series seems to borrow from the same artistic styling of the original series, but we will have to wait a few more weeks before learning the cast and supporting characters of the series.
New York Comic-Con runs from October 3rd through October 6th, and you can find more NYCC Headlines to stay on top of the announcements and trailers.
