AMC’s “The Walking Dead” is returning to New York Comic-Con with a brand-new spinoff series. The network teased the third show with a few pictures on social media, and confirmed the panel’s lineup for Saturday. If you’re attending with us, you can expect to see co-creators Scott M. Gimple and Showrunner Matt Negrete, and they will be joined by cast members Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, and Nico Tortorella. The cast and crew are expected to hype up the new story, and we will most likely see the first official trailer and learn the official title for the spinoff. Attendees might even get to see the first episode.
According to AMC, the third installment of the franchise will feature two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation of humans to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. The network teased, “Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.”
The new show is produced and distributed by AMC Studios, the series will premiere on AMC in spring 2020.
If you’re a fan of the traditional “The Walking Dead” series, Season 10 picks up a few months after the events we witnessed in the last finale. The collected communities are still dealing with Alpha and the Whisperers, and things weren’t going great with the survivors. While staying on their side of the new border, our crews are secretly preparing for a possible war. If you need to set a reminder for the show’s 10th season premiere, “The Walking Dead” is scheduled to return on October 6th.
If you want to see the big “Walking Dead” panel, and be the first to hear about the third installment to the franchise, the panel is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 5th at 10:30 am at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden.
