Disney’s “Frozen 2” launches on November 22nd, and there’s a new song included in the movie that hopes to rival “Let It Go” from the first installment. The studio released a special preview of “Into the Unknown,” the new original song that tiny moviegoers will be singing all winter long.
Disney released the video on social media on Monday morning. Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee directed “Frozen 2″ for the studio, and the film features the voice talents of Evan Rachel Wood, Kristen Bell, Sterling K. Brown, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, and Idina Menzel.
The first “Frozen” opened in theaters back in 2013. The movie started with a limited debut, but quickly expanded to a nationwide audience on November 27th. The animated-comedy made $243K during its limited run and grossed over $67M when it hit theaters across the country. “Frozen” didn’t even top the box office when it premiered nationwide, and the film landed in second place behind “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” which made $74M in its follow-up weekend. “Frozen” quickly caught on, and the film dominated the box office for several weeks and ended its theatrical run with $1.2B worldwide gross for Disney.
In November, “Frozen 2” will have to battle several other releases. The movie is opening against “21 Bridges” with Chadwick Boseman, Sienna Miller, Stephan James, Keith David, Taylor Kitsch, and J.K. Simmons, and the Mr. Rodgers biopic “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” with Tom Hanks. The weekend prior to “Frozen 2” is the release of “All Rise,” the “Charlie’s Angels” reboot, “Ford v. Ferrari,” and “The Good Liar,” and the animated-comedy will have to battle “Knives Out” and “Queen & Slim” the following week.
Fans of the franchise can watch the first look trailer below for the new song, and set a reminder to catch “Frozen 2” on November 22, 2019.
