Jennifer Lopez is continuing her outstanding year with a performance at the 2020 Superbowl Halftime Show. Lopez and Shakira are the confirmed headliners for the event, which will air live on February 2, 2020. Other acts may make surprise appearances during the event, which is becoming a tradition for the Halftime show.

Lopez has had an amazing year. Over the last few months she’s walked a revamped Versace dress at Milan Fashion Week; dominated the box office with her new comedy “Hustlers;” got engaged to Alex Rodriguez; and she is crushing it on her soldout tour. The announcement wasn’t exactly a surprise, but Shakira’s participation in the event was a fantastic bonus. The big event is being broadcast from Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium in February, a city that Lopez has frequently visited. The two artists join previous performers like Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, and Katy Perry.

Lopez’ recent “Hustlers” comedy is starting to generate Best Supporting Oscar buzz. Lorene Scafaria directed the comedy, which stars Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, Lili Reinhart, and Cardi B. The movie opened in second place over its debut weekend, grossing over $33M and landing just behind “IT: Chapter 2” during that film’s follow-up week in theaters. “Hustlers” was an instant hit for STX Entertainment, and has already made over $77M worldwide.

Lopez is also expected to star in “Marry Me,” a rom-com from director Kat Coiro. That film is based on a novel by Bobby Crosby, and follows a pop-star dumped by her rockstar fiance just before their lavish wedding at Madison Square Garden. In the upheaval, she decides to pull a random fan from the crowd, and they get married instead. The movie also features Owen Wilson, Sarah Silverman, and John Bradley. The studio hasn’t announced a release date for the movie at this time, but you have the Superbowl performance to look forward to if you’re a fan of the actor.
