Disney Channel’s “Elena of Avalor” is ready to return for a third season this fall. The popular animated series is scheduled to air the Season 3 premiere on October 7th, and several popular actors will join the show as guests in the upcoming episodes. In the new season, Princess Elena receives new magical powers and she’s prepping for her big coronation. With the fate of Avalor in the balance, Elena will have to prove herself before she becomes Queen. The Emmy and Imagen Award-winning series is inspired by diverse Latin cultures and folklore, which is taking center stage in the new season.
According to the network, Season three includes a Día de los Muertos-themed event, with guest stars Eugenio Derbez and Taye Diggs. That special episode will air in October. There is also a Hanukkah-themed episode in December, with guest star Jamie-Lynn Sigler as a visiting princess from a Latino Jewish kingdom. The network said that Elena’s royal coronation special is airing next year, which will probably be the big episode of the season.
