Universal Pictures will release the adult-comedy “Good Boys” on Digital on October 29th, followed by the Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand version on November 12th. The movie had the largest opening for an original comedy in 2019, and the movie stars Jacob Tremblay, Brady Noon, and Keith L. Williams.
The film did very well in theaters, opening at the top of the box office in August with a $21M debut before going on to make over $91.5M worldwide. The comedy crushed its competition on opening weekend, topping “The Angry Birds Movie 2,” “47 Meters Down: Uncaged,” “Blinded by the Light,” and “Where’d You Go Bernadette.”
The story picks up when 12-year-old Max (Jacob Tremblay) is invited to his first kissing party. He’s panicking because he doesn’t know how to kiss, and Max and his best friends decide to use his father’s drone to spy on a teenage couple making out next door to get some tips. In true comedic fashion, everything goes wrong, and the drone is destroyed. Desperate to replace it before Max’s dad (Will Forte) gets home, the boys skip school and set off on an odyssey of epically bad decisions involving some accidentally stolen drugs, frat-house paintball, and running from both the cops and two terrifying teenage girls (Molly Gordon and Midori Francis).
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the writers of “Superbad,” “Pineapple Express,” and “Sausage Party,” produced the movie, with James Weaver. Lee Eisenberg co-wrote and produced the movie, which was co-written and directed by Gene Stupnitsky. Josh Fagan, Brady Fujikawa, Nathan Kahane and John Powers Middleton served as executive producers on the project.
