Taylor Swift fans will want to watch NBC’s “The Voice” later this month. The ten-time Grammy Award winner is returning to the popular series to reprise her role as Mega Mentor on Season 17. The confirmation came earlier today from coaches John Legend and Blake Shelton. Taylor will join coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani to mentor the artists and prepare each team for the Knockout Rounds. Those rounds are scheduled to begin airing in late October, which is just a few weeks away. During the special rounds, the competing artists will be paired with a teammate and select their own songs to perform individually. Taylor will work with all four coaches and their teams to provide feedback, suggestions and praise as the artists prepare for their performance.
The coaches alone will choose the winner, and the artist not selected will be available to be stolen by another coach. Everyone will be looking to boost their confidence going into the Live Performance Shows, the Live Playoffs. This season, each coach will only have one steal in the Knockout Rounds.
This isn’t Swift’s first time serving as the Mega Mentor, she appeared on Season 7 of “The Voice” as well. She also performed her chart-topping single “ME!” ft. Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco on the Season 16 finale of “The Voice” earlier this year. If you want to set a reminder, “The Voice” premieres on September 23rd.
The new season is a great way for Swift to promote her new album, “Lover,” which is her seventh studio album. She is also scheduled to appear on SNL this year. Swift has ten Grammy awards and she has more than 400 lifetime awards to date, including 23 American Music Awards and 23 Billboard Music Awards, which are both the most overall wins by a female artist. She is the youngest person in history to win a Grammy for Album of the Year, and she is the first female solo artist to win the award twice.
