Hulu dropped an official trailer for “Looking for Alaska,” the new John Green adaptation coming to the platform in October. The official premiere date for the limited-series is October 18th, so you have a little over a month to read the original novel before watching the series. “Looking for Alaska” is releasing all at once on Hulu, and fans get eight episodes to binge through at their leisure. The story follows teenager Miles “Pudge” Halter (Charlie Plummer), after he enrolls in boarding school. During his stay, he falls in love with Alaska Young (Kristine Froseth), and finds a group of loyal friends and buddies. After an unexpected tragedy, Miles and his close friends attempt to make sense of what they’ve been through.

The series stars Charlie Plummer, Kristine Froseth, Denny Love, Jay Lee, Landry Bender, Sofia Vassilieva, Uriah Shelton, and Jordan Connor. Also starring in the adaptation are Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us) and Timothy Simons (Veep). Fans of the novel can watch the first official trailer below, and you can find the novel right here on Amazon if you haven’t read it yet.

The show was created for television by Josh Schwartz and comes from Paramount Television and Fake Empire. Savage and Schwartz serve as executive producers alongside Jessica Tuchinsky, Mark Waters, John Green, Marty Bowen, and Isaac Klausner. “Looking for Alaska” had a big presentation at Hulu’s TCA event this year. If you’re a Hulu subscriber, “Marvel’s Runaways” will return for a third season on December 13th with 10 new episodes, so fans should set a reminder to catch the new season.

Hulu released the trailer on social media, telling followers, “Teenagers think they’re invincible. They don’t know how right they are.”
