Netflix teased the return of “Disenchantment” last week, and now the animated-comedy has an official trailer. Part two of the series launches on Netflix later this month, and Princess Bean is going to hell and back for her friends.
If you’re new to the series, the show comes from The Simpsons creator Matt Groening. The story takes place in the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland and follows the misadventures of a hard-drinking young princess named Bean, along with her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. In a coincidence, Matt Groening started out his career while writing the Life is Hell books before he started working on The Simpsons, and that’s right where Bean is going.
The series features the voice talents of Abbi Jacobson (“Bean”), Nat Faxon (“Elfo”) and Eric Andre (“Luci”), along with John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery. The animation for the series is done by Rough Draft Studios, the same team that brought you the hit series “Futurama.”
Netflix teased the trailer on social media, telling fans, “We’ll see you in Hell.”
The other Netflix shows premiering this month include “The Spy,” “Elite: Season 2,” “The I-Land,” “Marianne: Season 1,” “Between Two Ferns: The Movie,” “Criminal,” “Team Kaylie,” “Skylines,” and “The Politician.” In October, Netflix subscribers can find “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” on October 11th, Meryl Streep’s “The Laundromat” movie on October 18th, and “The Kominsky Method: Season 2” on October 25th. Netflix is also launching the YA comedy “Tall Girl,” and the company started working on “Blonde” with Ana de Armas. You can also catch Cardi B’s “Rhythm + Flow” series, the platform’s first Hip-Hop competition series, which is releasing on a weekly basis starting this fall.
If you want to set a reminder, you can catch “Disenchantment: Part 2” on September 20th. The first season is already available on Netflix if you need to catch up.
