Marvel is storming into New York Comic-Con this year with all-star panels from Marvel Comics, Marvel Games, Marvel New Media, and Marvel Television. The action starts on October 3rd, and runs throughout NYCC until October 6th.
The first big panel on Thursday is “Making Comics the Marvel Way,” with Talent Scout Rickey Purdin and an assortment of Mighty Marvel Guests. Fans that attend the event will learn the aspects of production including writing, penciling, inking, coloring, editing, and more. Then it’s off to the “Spider-Man Spectacular: A This Week In Marvel Special Event.” This very special panel includes the return of Spider-Man 2099, and Ghost-Spider, Miles Morales, Mary Jane, and more. Ryan Penagos and Lorraine Cink will celebrate everything Spider-Man with writers Saladin Ahmed, Seanan McGuire, and Leah Williams.
On Friday, you can star the day with “Marvel: Cup O’Joe,” with Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and special guests. The group will look back across decades of Marvel history and share their personal experiences from some of the most defining moments in the Marvel Universe. Attendees of the panel will receive an exclusive variant comic, which will be announced at a later date. The “Marvel Games Panel” is next, offering a an inside look at the latest and greatest from the Marvel Games division. Fans can expect to see new content from “Marvel’s Iron Man VR” and “Marvel’s Avengers,” with many unannounced surprises and panel exclusives. Hosts Angelique Roche and Josh Saleh will be joined by Bill Rosemann and other special guests during the panel. The next event is “MARVEL COMICS: Next Big Thing” with Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, Donny Cates, Al Ewing, and Dan Slott. The crew will discuss a few of the many possible futures that Marvel may lead fans into over the next 80 years.
On to TV, starting with “Marvel’s Runaways” at Madison Square Garden. Attendees can be the first to experience the premiere episode of the highly-anticipated third season with the stars and creative forces behind the show. After the exclusive screening, you can join Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television, along with the cast and executive producers, to discuss what’s to come in season three.
On Saturday, the day starts with “MARVEL COMICS: Marvel Fanfare with C.B. Cebulski.” The Editor-in-Chief, along with Chris Claremont, will talk about anything and everything involved with Marvel Comics. Attendees will receive an exclusive Absolute Carnage: Miles Morales #2 cover featuring a CLASSIFIED image that you won’t be able to get anywhere else. The next panel on Saturday is “Marvel’s Hero Project,” an inspiring, brand-new, unscripted series that reveals the remarkable, positive change several young, real life heroes are making in their own communities. Join some of the creative team behind this series for a world premiere screening of the first episode along with a special Q&A. The special is going to air on Disney+. That event is just before “MARVEL COMICS: X-Men – Dawn of X,” with Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, Senior Editor Jordan White, Ed Brisson, Tini Howard, and Benjamin Percy. They will discuss the new status quo for the X-Men, and you can be the first to hear exciting new announcements for the Children of the Atom. Stay until the end of the panel to receive an exclusive variant cover version of Powers of X #5, featuring a stunning Dawn of X-inspired image by Arthur Adams.
The final day starts “Women of Marvel (Including the World Premiere Screening of Marvel Rising: Operation Shuri). The Women of Marvel assemble to celebrate nerddom and all the women who help make it great. Join the conversation as some of the best talent in the industry discuss the creative process, being a woman in entertainment, and what they’ve got planned next.
