Netflix is getting into the reality-competition game with a new series called “Rhythm + Flow.” The series features Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, and Tip “T.I.” Harris, as the trio searches for hip-hop’s next superstar. The series is scheduled to launch on October 9th, and Netflix released a first-look trailer for subscribers.
The series will hit Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, and our very own New York City, and narrow down the talent until there’s a winner. “Rhythm + Flow” is Netflix’s first hip-hop competition series, and will take on other shows like “The Voice,” “American Idol,” and “America’s Got Talent.” As we stated earlier, the show premieres on October 9th, and new episodes will be available each Wednesday.
Netflix’s other original projects scheduled to premiere in October include “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” on October 11th, Meryl Streep’s “The Laundromat” movie on October 18th, and “The Kominsky Method: Season 2” on October 25th. The other shows to look for this fall are “Disenchantment: Part 2” and the YA comedy “Tall Girl.” Netflix also started working on “Blonde” with Ana de Armas, and we should get more details on that movie in the coming weeks.
In September, Netflix subscribers can stream “The Spy,” “Elite: Season 2,” “The I-Land,” “Marianne: Season 1,” “Between Two Ferns: The Movie,” “Criminal,” “Team Kaylie,” “Skylines,” and “The Politician.”
Cardi B brought down the house at the MTV VMAs last month, and she won “Best Hip Hop” for “Money” with Atlantic Records. Cardi B was nominated for several awards for her work over the past year.
The TV fall schedule is just getting started on network’s like NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX, and all of the new and returning favorites will start premiering their new seasons. After the slow summer release schedule, viewers will have more to watch than they can handle, so be sure to save room on your DVR, or load up your watch-list from your favorite streaming service do you don’t miss anything.
