Paramount Pictures dropped an official trailer for “Terminator: Dark Fate,” scheduled to hit theaters on November 1st. The new installment to the long-running franchise stars Linda Hamilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta, and fans can prepare for Judgement Day with the video below. Edward Furlong, from “Terminator 2: Judgement Day,” is also expected to appear in the movie.
Tim Miller directed the new installment, which was produced by James Cameron and David Ellison. Paramount Pictures released the trailer on social media, telling fans, “Welcome to the day after #JudgmentDay.” David Goyer, Justin Rhodes, and Billy Ray wrote the screenplay for the new movie, working from a story by James Cameron, Charles Eglee, Josh Friedman, David Goyer, and Justin Rhodes.
Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Edward Cheng, Tim Miller, John J. Kelly, Bonnie Curtis, and Julie Lynn served as executive producers on the project.
“Terminator: Dark Fate” is opening against “Motherless Brooklyn,” which featues Bruce Willis, Willem Dafoe, Edward Norton, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Alec Baldwin, Leslie Mann, Fisher Stevens, and Cherry Jones. The following week is even busier, with “Doctor Sleep,” “Last Christmas,” “Midway,” and “Playing with Fire” currently scheduled to release in theaters.
The original 1984 “Terminator” had a $4M debut before grossing over $78M worldwide. “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” debuted with a massive $31M opening weekend before grossing $520M globally. In 2003, “Terminator: Rise of the Machines” had a larger $44M opening, but the film had a smaller $433M worldwide total. The next film in the franchise was “Terminator Salvation,” which made $42M on opening weekend before grossing $371M worldwide. The movie “Terminator: Genisys” had a $27M debut and left the box office with a $440M total, but most of that came from the international box office.
