Netflix’s “Tall Girl” movie is ready to launch, and the platform released a first look trailer to get viewers excited for the big premiere. The movie stars Ava Michelle, Luke Eisner, Griffin Gluck, Anjelika Washington, and Sabrina Carpenter, and is premiering on the platform in September.
Netflix’s description reads, “Jodi (Michelle) has always been the tallest girl in school — and she’s always been uncomfortable with it. After slouching her way through life for 16 years and being made fun of by classmates, Jodi meets Stig (Eisner), a seemingly perfect Swedish foreign exchange student who’s even taller than she is. Jodi’s new crush turns her world upside down and throws her into a surprising love triangle, but with the help of her two best friends (Gluck, Washington) as well as her beauty queen sister Harper (Carpenter), Jodi comes to realize that she’s far more than her insecurities about her appearance have led her to believe.”
Nzingha Stewart directed the movie for Netflix, and this mark’s her first feature film. Stewart has directed a long list of episodes for popular television series, including “How to Get Away With Murder,” “Good Girls,” “Station 19,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal,” “Major Crimes,” and “UnREAL.” If you want to set a reminder, “Tall Girl” launches on Netflix on September 13th.
Netflix is currently working on Sabrina Carpenter’s “Work It,” and the dance troupe comedy stars Carpenter, Liza Koshy, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Drew Ray Tanner. Also featured are Michelle Buteau and Jordan Fisher. The description states, “When Quinn Ackerman’s admission to the college of her dreams depends on her performance at a dance competition, she forms a ragtag group of dancers to take on the best squad in school…now she just needs to learn how to dance.”
