Nintendo celebrated its upcoming slate of new titles at gamescom in Cologne, Germany this week. The company focused on the Nintendo Switch, and showcased upcoming DLC for “Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order,” “Astral Chain,” and “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition.”

During the event, the director of the “Pokémon Sword” and “Pokémon Shield” games, Shigeru Ohmori, provided a short video message for fans, offering a new look at one of the towns in the Galar region. That game is just a few months away, and fans will be able to play Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield on the Nintendo Switch on November 15th. Fans of the franchise can watch that video below.

Marvel fans will soon get to play as the Punisher, Blade, Moon Knight, and Morbius in “Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.” The four characters are the latest addition to the popular game and are joining the Marvel Knights alliance. These playable characters are part of DLC Pack 1 included with the “Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order” expansion pass. That pass also includes a new mode called Gauntlet Mode that allows up to four players to take on a series of co-op challenges in rapid succession to earn rewards. In addition, alternative outfits for all playable characters will be added to the game via a series of free updates, starting on August 30th, with new outfits for Spider-Man, Hulk, and Captain Marvel. As previously announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July, the free update on August 30th will also add Cyclops and Colossus as new playable characters.

Other upcoming Nintendo Switch games include “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening“, which is now available for pre-purchase in the Nintendo eShop. A 2D mode is coming to “Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.” In addition to 3D events, players can compete in Classic 2D Events using graphics reminiscent of the NES era. In addition, it was revealed that Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will launch for Nintendo Switch on November 5th.

Nintendo also released a free demo for the “Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition.” The company stated that when the full game launches on September 27th, it will also come with a free Champion’s Pack. Downloading the pack will give players access to helpful items and fun costumes.
