HBO MAX is gearing up for launch day by expanding the platform’s list of original content. The latest announcement is “Let Them All Talk” (working title), an original film directed by Oscar and Emmy award winner Steven Soderbergh. Award-winning author Deborah Eisenberg wrote the script, and the movie stars Oscar, Emmy, and Golden Globe award winner Meryl Streep.

Joining Streep in the film are Emmy award winner and Oscar nominee Candice Bergen; Oscar, Emmy, and Golden Globe award winner Dianne Wiest; Oscar and Golden Globe award nominee Lucas Hedges; and SAG Award nominee Gemma Chan.

According to the network, “Let Them All Talk” tells the story of a celebrated author (Streep) who takes a journey with some old friends (Bergen and Wiest) to have some fun and heal old wounds. Her nephew (Hedges) comes along to wrangle the ladies and finds himself involved with a young literary agent (Chan).

“This is the kind of project where you just say yes please sign me up,” said Sarah Aubrey, head of original content, HBO Max. “To work with Steven Soderbergh and this all-star cast led by Meryl Streep is thrilling and sets the standard for features at HBO Max.”

Production started last week in New York and will continue onboard the Queen Mary 2 and in the United Kingdom. The film is Produced by Gregory Jacobs and Executive Produced by Ken Meyer and Joseph Malloch.

Steven Soderbergh also directed “The Laundromat,” which also stars Streep, based on “Secrecy World” by Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Jake Bernstein. That film is produced by Lawrence Grey, Gregory Jacobs, Michael Sugar, and Burns, and is scheduled to premiere on Netflix later this year. That film follows Streep as she slowly unravels the Panama Papers Scandals, which included offshore accounts and tax shelters for UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Iceland Prime Minister Sigmunder Gunnlaugsson, and even Donald Trump.

HBO listed a long list of original series, specials, and movies expected to hit platform over the next few years. Since the announcement, HBO Max also added new “Doctor Who” content, and a “Gossip Girl” reboot.
