The hit drama series “9-1-1” returns in September for the start of Season 3 and the first trailer is a powerful one. The season is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 23rd and the trailer shows a devastating tsunami hitting the Santa Monica Pier in California.

Now in its third season, “9-1-1” quickly became one of the network’s most-watched dramas. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear created the series, which explores the experiences of police officers, firefighters and dispatchers who rush into danger every day. FOX describes the series stating, “These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.”

The show stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, and Golden Globe nominee Jennifer Love Hewitt (The Client List, Ghost Whisperer). They join Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Rockmond Dunbar, and Ryan Guzman, who are series regulars. The show is part of 20th Century Fox Television’s partnership with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk’s Teley-Vision. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear are creators, executive producers and writers on the series.

“9-1-1” is just one of the shows on FOX’s fall 2019-20 schedule. The network is also hosting “Prodigal Son,” “Empire,” “The Resident,” “The Masked Singer,” “Not Just Me,” “Thursday Night Football,” “WWE’s Smackdown Live,” “Almost Family,” “Deputy,” “NeXt,” and “Outmatched.” FOX also expanded its animated slate, which still includes “The Simpsons,” “Bob’s Burgers,” and “Family Guy.” The new additions include “Bless the Harts” “The Great North,” and “Duncanville.” FOX is also hosting the telecast of Super Bowl LIV on February 2nd this year.

There will be plenty to catch up on in just a few weeks, and TV viewers can flip between football and scripted television throughout the month of September.
