The DC characters are prepping for “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” the big crossover event with Supergirl, Batwoman, The Flash, Arrow, and the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow team. The story is based on the seminal DC comic book series, and the title was confirmed today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW Network, during The Television Critics Association’s Summer Press Tour.
In the new season, the network will air “Crisis on Infinite Earths” across five different episodes, all airing between December 2019 and January 2020. The “Crisis on Infinite Earths” episodic air schedule starts with “Supergirl” on December 8th; followed by “Batwoman” on December 9th; “The Flash” on December 10th; and “Arrow” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” on January 14th.
That gives you time to read the original comic series. You can find the 30th Anniversary collection of the story right here on Amazon.
The network also confirmed that characters from “Black Lightning” will be featured for the first time ever in this year’s crossover. During the event, it was also announced that voice actor Kevin Conroy will be making a special guest appearance as Bruce Wayne from the future. Conroy supplied the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman in such iconic series and features as “Batman: The Animated Series,” “Batman Beyond,” “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox” and “Batman: The Killing Joke,” just to name a few.
The crossover events have been extremely popular in the past, and this year the addition of Bruce Wayne, Batgirl, and Black Lightning characters should make it one of the best crossover events to date. The network didn’t release a first look trailer for the new episodes, so fans will have to wait a little longer to get a preview, but at least we know the premiere dates of the important episodes.
It’s going to be a busy week on The CW, so set a reminder to catch the first “Supergirl” episode on December 8th.
