Momentum Pictures released a trailer for “Burn,” a new thriller coming to select theaters in August. The movie is getting a day-and-date release on digital as well, and you can pre-order the DVD version right here on Amazon.
Written and directed by Mike Gan, the movie stars Josh Hutcherson, Suki Waterhouse, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Harry Shum Jr., and Shiloh Fernandez. The studio teased the movie on social media, telling followers, “Burn is a contained thriller following a lonely female gas station attendant who must face a desperate man who tries to rob the store. When the heist goes wrong, she takes the opportunity to make a connection with the man.”
Fans of the actors can watch the official trailer below and set a reminder to catch the film when it releases on August 23rd. Check your local listings to see if you can find it in theaters, but if not, you’ll have the digital and on-demand option the same day.
Suki Waterhouse also appears in “Misbehaviour,” from director Philippa Lowthorpe. The movie features Waterhouse, Keira Knightley, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jessie Buckley, Greg Kinnear, Emma Corrin, and Lesley Manville. She is also starring in “Creation Stories” from director Nick Moran, with Jason Isaacs, and Rupert Everett. Fans of Hutcherson might know him best from “The Hunger Games,” but lately he’s starred in the Hulu series “Future Man” with Eliza Coupe and Derek Wilson.
August is filled with big releases at the box office and several thrillers. Universal Pictures starts the month with “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw,” with “The Kitchen” and “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” opening nationwide the following week. Over the next weekend, “47 Meters Down: Uncaged” opens in theaters, and on August 21st the thriller “Ready or Not” opens nationwide, followed by the horror-thriller “Don’t Let Go.”
