Sony Pictures set a digital release date for “Men in Black: International,” the fourth movie in the popular Men in Black franchise. The movie, starring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, releases on digital on August 20th, followed by the 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD version on September 3rd.
In the movie, the duo battle an apocalyptic alien threat and hunt down a mole in the Men in Black operation. F. Gary Gray’s (The Fate of the Furious) directed the movie, which also stars Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Fallout), Rafe Spall (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Les Twins (Laurent Bourgeois & Larry Bourgeois), Emma Thompson (Late Night) and Liam Neeson (Taken).
“Men in Black: International” first hit theaters back in July. The movie debuted at number-one with $30M opening before going on to make over $247.3M worldwide. The original “Men in Black” opened in 1997 and made $50M on its opening weekend before grossing $589.3M worldwide. The success of the film prompted the studio to make “Men in Black II” in 2002, which had a $52M opening and a $441.8M worldwide gross. The third movie in the franchise, “MIB III,” released in 2012 and made $54M over its opening weekend before ending its theatrical run with $624M.
Marvel announced Thor 4, or “Thor: Love and Thunder,” at San Diego Comic-Con. Taika Waititi is writing and directing the movie, which stars Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, and Tessa Thompson. The Thor 4 installment is currently scheduled to debut in theaters on November 5, 2020. Taika Waititi directed Hemsworth and Thompson in “Thor: Ragnarok,” which made $122.7M on opening weekend and grossed over $853.9M worldwide.
