Netflix is bringing back “Trinkets” to close out the story in 2020. The platform added Sarah Goldfinger as the new showrunner, and Netflix ordered ten, thirty-minute episodes for the new season. The company stopped short of confirming an exact premiere date at this time, but did confirm the 2020 launch for season 2.

Filming is scheduled to begin in Portland, Oregon and the cast includes Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool), Kiana Madeira (The Flash), Quintessa Swindell (Euphoria), Odiseas Georgiadis (The Perfect Date), Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why), Brandon Butler (13 Reasons Why), Larry Sullivan (Big Little Lies), October Moore (Baskets), Larisa Oleynik (Mad Men), Joy Bryant (Parenthood), Linden Ashby (Teen Wolf), and Kat Cunning (The Deuce).

Netflix‘s official description reads, “When three teenage girls from different corners of the high school cafeteria find themselves in the same mandated Shoplifter’s Anonymous meeting, an unlikely friendship forms. Elodie (Brianna Hildebrand, Deadpool) — the grieving misfit, Moe (Kiana Madeira, The Flash) — the mysterious outsider, and Tabitha (Quintessa Swindell, Euphoria) — the imperfect picture of perfection, will find strength in each other as they negotiate the complicated dilemma of trying to fit in while longing to break out.”

The company released a season 2 trailer on social media, telling fans, “You had questions, we’ve got answers. The conclusion to the Trinkets story. The final season coming 2020.” Fans of the first season can watch the official season two announcement video below, thanks to an early upload from Netflix on Monday morning.

Trinkets is based on the young adult novel by Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith. If you haven’t read the original novel yet, you can find it right here on Amazon.
