Netflix confirmed the supporting cast for Zack Snyder’s “Army of the Dead,” which is filming in Albuquerque and Atlantic City. Snyder is directing the movie and wrote the original story. Joby Harold, Snyder, and Shay Hatten wrote the screenplay.

The latest casting announcements include Omari Hardwick (Power, Sorry to Bother You), Chris D’Elia (You, Man on Fire), Hiroyuki Sanada (Avengers: Endgame, Westworld, Minamata), Garret Dillahunt (Widows, No Country For Old Men) , Matthias Schweighöfer (You Are Wanted, Resistance), Raúl Castillo (We The Animals, Vida), Nora Arnezeder (Maniac, Mozart in the Jungle), Samantha Win (Arrow, Justice League), and Rich Cetrone (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Solo: A Star Wars Story).

These actors will join the leads, Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, and Huma Qureshi.

Netflix‘s official logline for the movie reads, “Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.”

“Army of the Dead” marks Snyder’s return to the zombie genre, previously making his directorial debut with “Dawn of the Dead” for Universal Pictures. That zombie film featured Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames, Jake Weber, Ty Burrell, and Mekhi Phifer. The movie, written by “Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn, opened at number-one in 2004 with a $26M domestic debut. The thriller went on to make over $102M for the studio, and Snyder went on to make “300” with Gerard Butler and Lena Headey in 2006.

Last week Netflix announced that Snyder will create an all-new anime series set in the world of Norse mythology. He will also serve as executive producer on the project. Jay Oliva (Trese, Batman The Dark Knight Returns, Justice League The Flashpoint Paradox) is creating the series alongside Snyder and will serve as the showrunner, director, and executive producer. Oliva and Snyder have had a longstanding creative partnership, spanning over a dozen live-action feature films, including Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, 300: Rise of an Empire, and Man of Steel.
