The long-awaited animated series “gen:LOCK” now has a premiere date on Adult Swim. WarnerMedia and Adult Swim are bringing the popular series to new viewers on August 3rd, and it will be part of Adult Swim’s Toonami block of programming.

The series features the voice talents of Michael B. Jordan, and the story takes place in the future, during a time that an oppressive regime is trying to take over the world. A small team is fighting back against the evil forces, using neuroscience and mecha powers to turn the tide. Rooster Teeth teased the series on social media adding, “One military force holds the line. One pilot could turn the tide.”

Joining Jordan in “gen:LOCK” are Dakota Fanning, Maisie Williams, Kōichi Yamadera, Golshifteh Farahani, Asia Kate Dillon, and “Doctor Who’s” David Tennant.

The show has been available on Crunchyroll for some time now, but now everyone can catch up on the series, starting in August.

The official description for the series reads, “Fifty years in the future, an oppressive authoritarian force threatens to conquer the world. A daring team is recruited to pilot a new form of weaponized neuroscience that powers devastating mecha, but they must be willing to sacrifice everything to save the world.”
