If you’ve binged through all “Stranger Things 3” and are looking for more adventures with Mike, El, Dustin, Lucas, Will, and Max, then grab your Nintendo Switch and head into the upside down. “Stranger Things 3: The Game” launched this week as a companion to Netflix’s original series, and it’s filled with 8-bit nostalgic action. The game is also avialable on PS4, Xbox On, and PC through Steam
In the game, players explore through some familiar events from the series, while also uncovering never-before-seen quests, character interactions, and secrets. In the launch announcement, Nintendo described the game, adding, “This adventure game blends a distinctively retro art style with modern gameplay mechanics to deliver nostalgic fun with a fresh new twist.”
Players can team up in two-player local co-op to explore the world of Hawkins, and solve puzzles and battle the emerging evils of The Upside Down as one of 12 popular characters from the show. If you want to take a break from the fireworks and hotdogs, “Stranger Things 3: The Game” launches today (July 4th). Grab your favorite character and save the town of Hawkins.
Another release to look for is “SolSeraph.” As the guardian of humanity, civilization is in your hands. Players build cities and set up defensive structures to protect them from the constant threat of monsters, and then descend into their lairs with sword and spells to eliminate the monsters for good. In the game, players explore floating islands, ancient caverns, and lost cities. Players will have to wait a few days to get their hands on the game, “The SolSeraph” will be available on July 10th.
As for “Stranger Things 3,” the kids are out of school and there’s a brand new mall in town. Netflix‘s no-spoiler tease of the season reads, “Romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart. Meanwhile, danger looms. When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.”
