David Harbour is jumping from Netflix’s “Stranger Things” to “Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein,” a new mockumentary launching on the platform on July 16th.

In the special, fans follow David Harbour as he uncovers lost footage from his father’s televised stage play, Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein. That’s when things take a turn for the unconventionally weird and wonderful.

Netflix described the series saying, “Expect the unexpected in this over-the-top and often dramatic(ish) reimagined tale of mystery and suspense . With appearances by Alfred Molina, Kate Berlant, and more special guests, Harbour explores the depths of his family’s acting lineage to gain insight into his father’s legacy – all in 28-minutes.”

Daniel Gray Longino (“Kroll Show” and “PEN15”) directed the special, working from a script written by John Levenstein (“Arrested Development” and “Kroll Show”).

Netflix released the trailer on social media on Tuesday afternoon, telling followers, “David Harbour delves into the enigmatic history of his legendary acting family, as he examines his father’s legacy and role in a made-for-tv play.” You won’t want to miss the trailer for this one.

As for “Stranger Things,” the third installment launches on Netflix on July 4th. The new season starts in 1985 and summer’s heating up in kids’ small town. Netflix’s description of the third season reads, “School’s out, there’s a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood. Romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart.” Netflix added, “Meanwhile, danger looms. When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.”
