Mindy Kaling’s “Four Weddings and a Funeral” adaptation has a first look trailer, giving fans a quick peek at the newer version of the classic romantic-comedy. The series is launching on Hulu and is expected to premiere on July 31st.

The cast includes Nathalie Emmanuel, who replaced Jessica Williams, Brandon Mychal Smith, Zoe Boyle, Jennie Jacques, Harish Patel, Guz Khan, Rebecca Rittenhouse, and John Reynolds. Hulu did mention that original cast member Andie MacDowell, who starred in the original 1994 movie, is appearing as a guest star in the mini-series.

Hulu released the video on YouTube adding, “Maya, the young communications director for a New York senatorial campaign, receives a wedding invitation from her college schoolmate now living in London. She leaves her professional and personal life behind, in favor of traveling to England and reconnecting with old friends and ends up in the midst of their personal crises. Relationships are forged and broken, political scandals exposed, London social life lampooned, love affairs ignited and doused, and of course there are four weddings… and a funeral.”

Fans of the original romantic-comedy can watch the first trailer below.

Mindy Kaling, Matt Warburton, Tracey Wigfield, Jonathan Prince, Howard Klein, Charlie Grandy, Tristram Shapeero, and Charles McDougall serve as executive producers on the mini-series. If you would like to set a reminder to catch the first episode, “Four Weddings and Funeral” is launching on July 31st on Hulu.

Mike Newell directed the 1994 movie, which starred Grant, MacDowell, James Fleet, Kristin Scott Thomas, John Hannah, and Simon Callow.

The mini-series is hitting Hulu just a few weeks after Mindy Kaling’s “Late Night” struggled during a crowded box office. Kaling wrote and starred in the film, which was praised at Sundance before being picked up by Amazon Studios for $13M. So far, “Late Night” has only made $14M in theaters. The upside for Amazon is that movie goes to Amazon’s Prime Video once its out of the theaters, where it can attract more viewers.
