Sony Pictures dropped the first trailer for “Jumanji: The Next Level.” The next chapter is releasing in theaters on December 13th and fans can get a first look at the movie thanks to an early morning upload from the studio. The third installment (or second film after the reboot) features Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, and Alex Wolff. The cast also includes Danny Glover and Danny DeVito.
Jake Kasdan directed the sequel, working off a script that he wrote with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. The movie is based on the book Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg.
The studio released the video on social media on Monday morning adding, “In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.”

The 2017 hit “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” became Sony Pictures‘ highest-grossing film of all time, topping the previous Spider-Man, Men in Black, Terminator, and Bond movies. “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” brought in over $404M domestically and went on to make over $962M worldwide. That even beats “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” which made $334M domestically and $880M globally. The record could be broken by Sony Pictures’ upcoming Spider-Man project, “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” which releases on July 2nd.
Matt Tolmach, Jake Kasdan, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia served as producers on the project, with David Householter, Melvin Mar, Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, William Teitler, Ted Field, Mike Weber, and Chris Van Allsburg serving as executive producers.
