Netflix confirmed that Victoria Pedretti is returning to the haunting series in “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” based on a story by Henry James.
Fans might remember Pedretti from “The Haunting of Hill House,” and fans should be excited to see her return in the second installment. The original story that this new season is based on is called “The Turn of the Screw,” and Pedretti is playing the governess looking after two siblings. Things pick up in the story when spirits in the house start to haunt the children.
Netflix confirmed the casting on social media, telling followers, “Thrilled to announce that Victoria Pedretti will return for the next installment in @flanaganfilm’s @haunting series, #TheHauntingOfBlyManor, based on the works of Henry James!”
In “The Haunting of Hill House,” the first installment to the anthology series, Pedretti took the role of Nell Crain. The role was Pedretti’s big introduction, and helped her land a role in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”
Pedretti will also appear in the “You: Season 2,” another Netflix series.
The first installment was an instant hit with viewers. “The Haunting of Hill House” is a modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s legendary novel of the same name. The story follows five siblings who grew up in the most famous haunted house in America. Now adults, they’re reunited by the suicide of their youngest sister, which forces them to finally confront the ghosts of their own pasts.
The first season has ten episodes, featuring Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, Lulu Wilson, Mckenna Grace, Paxton Singleton, Julian Hilliard, Violet McGraw, and Timothy Hutton.
Netflix stopped short of announcing a release date for the new season, but we do know that season two is scheduled to debut in 2020.
