SYFY is chumming the waters for Ian Ziering’s new movie “Zombie Tidal Wave.” The event is part of SYFY’s “Off the Deep End Weekend,” which starts on August 17th and runs through August 17th. The weekend features SYFY’s shark movies, including the entire “Sharknado” franchise which stars Ziering. The big premiere is the new SYFY Original Movie, though it has zombies and not sharks.

The network promoted the special weekend adding, “Shark Week and SharkFest may have churned the waters but SYFY is turning the tide and going off the deep end with a fintastic frenzy of shark-themed original movies…plus a dose of zombies for good measure!”

“Shark Week” is airing first, set to begin on July 28th and swims through August 4th on the Discovery Channel. This year, retired Marine Rob Riggle hosts the event with celebrity friends Anthony Anderson, Adam Devine, Damon Wayans Jr., and Joel McHale.

“I’m a huge Shark Week fan and can’t wait to dive back into the water with the oceans most magnificent creatures. It’s going to be an epic ‘Shark Trip’ with some of my best buddies,” said Rob Riggle.

Last year, “Shark Week” reached 34.9M total viewers across Total Day. The week also garnered 3.5 million streams across all Discovery GO (DGO) digital platforms.

If you want to set a reminder for “Zombie Tidal Wave,” the SYFY Original airs on August 17th. According to the network, the movie features a zombie-slinging tidal wave that hits a small town. “Sharknado” director Anthony C. Ferrante helmed the project, with Ian Ziering also serving as a producer and star.

The SYFY weekend includes “Sharknado,” “Sharknado 2: The Second One,” “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!,” “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens,” “Sharknado 5: Global Swarming,” “The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time.” Outside of the “Sharknado” franchise, viewers can catch “Zombie Shark,” “Sharktopus,” “Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda,” “Atomic Shark,” “Dam Sharks,” “5-Headed Shark,” “6-Headed Shark,” “Frenzy,” and “Megalodon.”
