The summer box office is in full swing and Disney is once again at the top of the charts. “Toy Story 4,” “Anna,” and the “Child’s Play” reboot hit theaters nationwide this weekend, and all three films were hoping to top the charts before “Annabelle Comes Home” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home” hit theaters in the coming weeks.

Josh Cooley directed “Toy Story 4,” which features the voice talents of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Annie Potts, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks, Joan Cusack, Bonnie Hunt, and Kristen Schaal.

The fourth installment had the highest opening in the franchise, beating the 1995 original “Toy Story” which made $29M, and the 1999 opening of “Toy Story 2” which made $57M. “Toy Story 3” was the first Pixar film to open above $100M, making $110M on its opening weekend.

Not making the top five but worth mentioning is this week’s other new release, the action-thriller “Anna.” The movie debuted in ninth-place overall on the domestic charts, only making $3.5M in 2,114 locations. Luc Besson directed “Anna,” starring Sasha Luss, Helen Mirren, Luke Evans, and Cillian Murphy.
