FOX Searchlight released a new trailer for “Ready or Not,” a thriller set to release in theaters later this summer. The movie stars Adam Brody, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell, and comes from directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy wrote the screenplay for the movie, which is a battle-royal following a wedding.

The story follows a young bride (Samara Weaving) as she joins her new husband’s (Mark O’Brien) rich, eccentric family (Adam Brody, Henry Czerny, Andie MacDowell) in a time-honored tradition that turns into a lethal game with everyone fighting for their survival.

Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Tracey Nyberg, and Daniel Bekerman served as executive producers on the movie, with Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Bradley J. Fischer serving as producers.

Fans of the genre can watch the official trailer below for a better look at the movie.

“Ready or Not” opens in theaters against Gerard Butler’s “Angel has Fallen” and the action comedy “My Spy” with Dave Bautista. That’s the same weekend that the drama “Overcomer,” from director Alex Kendrick, hits theaters. It will be interesting to see if “Ready or Not” is the new breakout horror hit of the summer, but it already some tough competition.

The other thrillers opening in August include “Luce” with Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer, and Tim Roth, and “Them That Follow” with Olivia Colman, Walton Goggins, Jim Gaffigan, and Thomas Mann. Towards the middle of the month Lionsgate is releasing “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark,” followed by the sequel “47 Meters Down: Uncaged.”

Samara Weaving is set to star as Thea Preston in “Bill & Ted Face the Music” in 2020, and she is also starring in “Guns Akimbo” with Daniel Radcliffe. Recently, Weaving starred in “The Babysitter” as Bee, and as Penelope in the award-winning drama “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”

As for “Ready or Not,” thriller fans can set a reminder to catch the movie on August 23rd.
