Universal Pictures released a first-look trailer for the adult-comedy “Good Boys,” set to debut later this summer. Starring Jacob Tremblay, Keith L. Williams, Brady Noon, Molly Gordon, Lil Rel Howery, and Will Forte, the movie hits theaters on August 16th. A drone accident starts off a wild adventure for a group of six-grade boys in the movie, who are just trying to look cool at their big first party.
Gene Stupnitsky directed “Good Boys” for the studio, working with the team that created “Superbad,” “Pineapple Express,” and “Sausage Party.” The R-rated comedy opens against the thriller “47 Meters Down: Uncaged;” the crime-drama “The Informer;” and the comedy-drama “Where’d You Go, Bernadette” in August.
After being invited to his first kissing party, 12-year-old Max (Room’s Jacob Tremblay) is panicking because he doesn’t know how to kiss. Eager for some pointers, Max and his best friends Thor (Brady Noon, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) and Lucas (Keith L. Williams, Fox’s The Last Man On Earth) decide to use Max’s dad’s drone – which Max is forbidden to touch – to spy (they think) on a teenage couple making out next door. Things go ridiculously wrong when the drone is destroyed. The group hopes to replace it before Max’s dad (Will Forte, The Last Man on Earth) gets home, and the boys skip school and set off on an odyssey of bad decisions.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the writers of “Superbad,” “Pineapple Express” and “Sausage Party,” produced the movie with James Weaver (Neighbors). Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (NBC’s The Office, Bad Teacher) wrote the script and Eisenberg also produces.
Jacob Tremblay hit the scene with “ROOM” in 2015. The young actor followed up the role in several films, including “Before I Wake,” “The Book of Henry,” “The Predator,” and “Wonder.” Tremblay will also be featured in “Doctor Sleep,” “The Kid: An Animated Adventure,” and an untitled Lani Pixels project.
