CD Projekt RED set a release date for “Cyberpunk 2077” during Microsoft’s E3 presentation on Sunday, and brought along a new trailer to get fans excited for the premiere. The game, which is hitting PC, PS4, and Xbox One, hits platforms on April 16, 2020.
Fans can order the game on console right here on Amazon and have it ready for release day.
The studio took a moment to reveal the Collector’s Edition, which is also available for pre-order. The CE comes with a number of high-quality collectibles including a 10″ statue depicting the game’s protagonist ‘V’ and a steelbook case. Other assets include a hardcover art book, and other goodies. The Collector’s Edition comes in an impressive box made to look like one of the megabuildings towering over Night City. the setting of the game.
Accompanying the release date and pre-order news is the cinematic trailer that mentioned earlier, which offers a deeper look into the game’s story. The trailer reveals one of the key characters of Cyberpunk 2077 named Johnny Silverhand. The legendary rockerboy is played by Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves (The Matrix trilogy, John Wick series, Johnny Mnemonic). In addition to his appearance and voice, Reeves is also providing full-body motion capture for the character. Fans of the studio, or Reeves, can watch the full length trailer below for another look at the game.
If you’re new to the title, the game is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. The game follows the story of V, a hired gun on the rise in a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers. Featuring the studio’s hallmark concept of choices and consequences, players will face difficult decisions that ripple through the entire game.
