With “Toy Story 4” releasing in just a few weeks, PIXAR began promoting the studio’s next animated adventure “Onward,” set to release in theaters in March 2020. Written and directed by Dan Scanlon, the film features the voice talents of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Octavia Spencer, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
March is a popular month for Disney films; over the years Disney released the “Beauty and the Beast” live-action adaptation, “Zootopia,” “Captain Marvel,” “Alice & Wonderland,” and “Cinderella” throughout the month. The official premiere date for “Onward” is March 6, 2020. Right now, the box office schedule is pretty open. “Godzilla vs. Kong” and “The Invisible Man” are tentatively scheduled to debut one week after “Onward,” with “A Quiet Place 2,” “GI Joe” and Disney’s live-action “Mulan” set to release a few weeks later.
Disney released the trailer for “Onward” on social media, describing the film by saying, “Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney and Pixar’s “Onward” introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.”
Fans of the genre can watch the official teaser trailer below.
