A first-look teaser trailer for CBS All Access’ “Star Trek: Picard” released on Thursday morning. The new series features Sir Patrick Stewart, reprising his iconic role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, with Santiago Cabrera and Michelle Hurd. Other confirmed castings include Alison Pill, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, and Harry Treadaway.
Few details on the spinoff are known at this time, and the video below doesn’t provide too many details. Sir Patrick Stewart played Jean-Luc Picard for seven seasons on “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” and he will be back with new adventures in this new series. The new show follows the iconic character in the next chapter of his life and will air exclusively on CBS All Access in the United States. The show will be distributed concurrently internationally by CBS Studios International.
CBS All Access released the video on social media, telling followers, “The end is only the beginning. Brace yourself for the new CBS All Access Original Series Star Trek: Picard, coming soon.” Fans of the franchise can watch the video below, and keep the series on their radar.
The new “Star Wars: Picard” series joins the other franchise installments on the platform, which includes “Star Trek: Discovery,” “Star Trek: Lower Decks,” and “Star Trek: Short Treks.”
The network stopped short of confirming a premiere date at this time, but more information should be released over the next few months.
The series will be produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, James Duff, Akiva Goldsman, Patrick Stewart, Michael Chabon, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers and Aaron Baiers serves as a co-executive producer.
