Disney released the final trailer for “Toy Story 4” on Tuesday morning. The animated adventure hits theaters in just a few weeks, and fans can get another look at the new installment with the video below.
In the new story, Woody has a hard time finding his place after Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room. The film is a road trip adventure featuring old and new toys, and the story shows Woody “how big the world can be for a toy” according to Disney.
As the fourth installment to the long-running franchise, the film has big shoes to fill. “Toy Story” hit theaters back in 1995 and instantly connected with viewers. John Lasseter directed the first film, which had a $29M opening before going on to make over $373M worldwide. “Toy Story 2” opened in 1999, bringing in $57M for the studio and grossing over $497M worldwide. “Toy Story 3” released in 2010 with a $110M opening weekend before making over $1B worldwide for Disney.

“Toy Story 4” is opening against Aubrey Plaza’s “Child’s Play” reboot, and the Lionsgate action thriller “Anna.” Luc Besson wrote and directed “Anna” for the studio, which stars Helen Mirren, Luke Evans, and Cillian Murphy. The next major release in the family-friendly film category to hit theaters isn’t until July 5th, when Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: Far From Home” releases in theaters.
Jonas Rivera (“Inside Out,” “Up”) and Mark Nielsen (associate producer “Inside Out”) produced “Toy Story 4” for Disney•Pixar.
