The fourth and final season of “Preacher” now has a premiere date. AMC confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that the new season will premiere on the Network on August 4th. Back In Season 3, Jesse Custer’s quest for God took him back to the place he’s been avoiding his whole life: home. Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy returned to Angelville, the Louisiana Plantation where Jesse grew up, and found old grudges and deadly obligations.

AMC teased the final chapter in today’s announcement, “As the series inches closer to the finale, God’s endgame for the universe begins to click into place. Trapped between heavenly prophecies, hellish prisons, and all-out nuclear war, Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy make their bloody way to the Most High.” The network continued, “Whether they can reach God in time — or whether all this carnage is part of His divine plan — will soon be revealed as “Preacher” barrels towards the end of the world. ”

“Preacher” stars Dominic Cooper, Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun, along with series regulars Ian Colletti, Graham McTavish, Pip Torrens, Julie Ann Emery, and Noah Taylor.

You can always catch up on the show before the final season on AMC. “Preacher” is a supernatural thriller that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God. The trio is thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
