New “Rick & Morty” episodes are coming to Adult Swim this fall. After an almost two-year hiatus, the network announced the premiere date during the WarnerMedia presentation on Wednesday morning. The last time we checked in with the adult comedy, Adult Swim renewed the series for 70-episodes, and that was a year ago. “Rick and Morty: Season 3” wrapped up back in October 2017, and fans have been eagerly awaiting new content from the network ever since. The waiting is almost over, and the sci-fi comedy will return for “Rick & Morty: Season 4” this November.
Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon created the hit show. The network says the series, “catalogues the bizarre misadventures of a bored scientific genius/drunkard and his socially awkward grandson, Morty.” The network continues, “Their exploits tend to have unintended consequences for Morty’s dysfunctional family, especially his unfailingly mediocre father, Jerry.”
The show was an overnight success when it debuted on Adult Swim in 2013. Over the years, the show has produced countless memes and classic episodes, and Season 3 earned the network the top comedy in television with millennial viewers. The third season of the show was also the highest rated, which is why fans on social media are so excited to get new episodes this fall.
The network stopped short of announcing an exact premiere date at this time, only giving the “November 2019” launch window. The duo from the show announced the details with a trailer on Wednesday morning.
Since the debut of the show, the brand expanded into VR Games, mobile games, and remains a popular streaming destination on platforms. You can find an entire universe of merchandise based on the show, from Funko Pop! toys, to apparel and stickers right here on Amazon.
