Netflix has confirmed the expanded cast for the upcoming romantic comedy “Holidate.” Joining Emma Roberts in the movie are Luke Bracey (Point Break), Jake Manley (The Order,), Jessica Capshaw (Grey’s Anatomy), Andrew Bachelor (The Babysitter), Frances Fisher (Watchmen), Manish Dayal (The Hundred-Foot Journey) and Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies). John Whitesell (Big Momma’s House 2, Malibu’s Most Wanted) is directing the project for Netflix, working from a script written by Tiffany Paulsen.

The video streaming service described the story in the announcement on Tuesday adding, “Sloane (Emma Roberts) and Jackson (Luke Bracey) hate the holidays! Their enduring singledom leaves them subject to the judgment of their meddling family members or stuck with clingy, awkward dates on each festive occasion. When these two meet, they pledge to be each other’s plus-ones for each holiday celebration over the course of the year.”

Wonderland’s McG and Mary Viola are producing, a company that has worked with Netflix several times in the past. Wonderland is currently in production on the Netflix comedy “Tall Girl,” which will star newcomer Ava Michelle. That project also features Griffin Gluck, Luke Eisner, Sabrina Carpenter, Paris Berelc, and Steve Zahn. The company also produced other Netflix hits, like “The Babysitter,” “When We First Met,” and the upcoming family action film “Rim Of The World.” The new movie “Holidate” is now the fifth collaboration between Wonderland and Netflix. Steven Bello is serving as executive producer on the project.

Netflix stopped short of announcing a premiere date at this time, but we will get a few trailers and teasers when the movie wraps later this summer. Emma Roberts recently voiced the role of Wedgehead in the “Uglydolls” movie. The actor will also be featured in the horror-thriller “The Hunt,” as well as the “Anya’s Ghost” adaptation directed by Dan Mazer. Patrick Ness is writing the screenplay for that adaptation.
