A24’s newest thriller “Midsommar” released another trailer on Tuesday morning. The film, which was recently bumped up to a July 3 premiere date, comes from writer and director Ari Aster (Hereditary) and stars Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor, William Jackson Harper, and Will Poulter.

The movie was originally scheduled to release on August 9th, which was a very crowded release date at the box office. The new release date puts the thriller against Sony Pictures’ “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” but the two films don’t exactly share the same demographic. “Midsommar” moved dates to avoid competing with Disney’s “Artemis Fowl,” “Scary Stories to tell in the Dark,” “Where’d You Go, Bernadette,” and Warner Bros. Pictures’ “The Kitchen.” In a twist, after “Midsommar” switched premiere dates, Disney moved “Artemis Fowl” to 2020, and “Where’d You Go, Bernadette?” changed its release date as well. The move might be for the best in the end, as August 9th is sandwiched between “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” and the films “47 Meters Down: Uncaged,” “Good Boys,” and “The Informer.”

“Midsommar” picks up when a young woman joins her boyfriend on a summer trip, and things go horribly wrong. The studio released a teaser for the film earlier this year, and you can watch the new trailer below.

A24 is releasing “The Souvenir” later this week. The mystery romance thriller comes from writer and director Joanna Hogg and features Tilda Swinton, Neil Young, Tosin Cole, Janet Etuk, Frankie Wilson, and Honor Swinton Byrne. The film will get a limited release over the weekend, and fans of the studio can check local listings to see if the movie is coming to a theater near you.

You can set a reminder to catch “Midsommar” on July 3, 2019.
